Challenge #223 - Hip to be Square

Welcome to another fantastic challenge. Our theme this time is Hip to be Square. All you have to do to participate is create a square project. Before I go any further, I just want to know how many of you are singing here, there and everywhere...hip...hip...so hip to be square??? You just gotta love Huey Lewis. Now back to business. Our awesome sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Art. Here is a little information about Oddball Art.

Lizzy has always loved the stranger, quirkier side of life and that is exactly what she loves to create. Her art described as a perfect combination of sweet and sour that glitters up the grunge! As a lover of all things whimsical, kawaii and creepy cute, she throws in some Pastel Goth with a touch of glam, punk & rockabilly pinup!

She has certainly never been a mainstream type of girl and definitely won't fit into your stereotypical cookie cutter artists role; but rather she finds beauty in the truly unique, big eyed creepy little cuties with a bittersweet sadness. She is never truly happier then when she is in her art studio painting or sewing, creating a whimsical dream world easily recognizable as her signature style of creepy yet cute, all the way from the haunting darkness to the rainbowtastic, Lizzy’s creations are lovingly sprinkled with a heartbreaking sweetness.

Growing up a child of the 80's, pop rocks princess, with an extreme fondness for anything candy coated, Kawaii Kitten & Ziggy Stardust, all of which had a major influence in the work that she is creating today. Lizzy employs many different mediums when she creates, anything from mixed media painting to sewing with many different textiles, the end result always being the same; A whimsical dream world filled with big eyed beauties, creepy little cuties and quirky monsters of all shapes and sizes.

The prize for this challenge is 3 digis from Oddball Art.
Are you still singing?  I am!! Oddball Art gave us some wonderful images to use for this challenge.  Here is some inspiration from our design team:

Awesome right?!  Now crank up Huey Lewis and get to crafting.  We can't wait to see what you create.  Have a fantastic day!

Challenge #222 - Floral Fantasy

Good morning crafty Peeps!  (yes, that is a corny Easter pun)  We hope everyone who celebrates had a lovely Easter, and that the kiddos got lots of good candy to share with Mom and Dad hehe.  It looks like spring might finally be here in the Northeast, as it is 60 and sunny for the whole weekend!  I've noticed a few spring flowers beginning to emerge slowly from their wintery slumber.  In honor of all the spring blooms waiting to open, our new challenge is to use an image with flowers in it, or use flowers as an embellishment.

Not only is the nice weather some good news, but we also have a gorgeous new sponsor!

Ching-Chou Kuik was born in 1979 at Pantai Remis, Perak, Malaysia . She lived in Malaysia, and moved to Taiwan at age of 19, to pursuit her fine art education at National Taiwan Normal University.

In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts (painting).
While in Taipei, Ching-Chou enjoyed being an art teacher for young children from age three to twelve. The originality of the youngsters' pieces inspires her and brings enthusiasm and creativity to her works.  Ching-Chou moved to Seattle with her husband in 2005.

Ching-Chou became a full-time artist and share her art with others since Mar 2006.
She is a nearly full-time mom of a 4 year-old boy, an art teacher for young children, and a part-time artist who hopes for more hours in her days (don't we all!).

Images can be purchased in her Etsy Shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/gjzcck

These images are so pretty and dreamy, and full of beautiful flowers, perfect for our theme.  The lucky winner will receive a prize of 3 digis!  The only bad thing, is you will have a hard time choosing!

The team got to work with an image of their choice, so without further ado, here is some flowery inspiration for you.
